MYG Table Tennis12 February 2024 (by admin) |
On Thursday several of our year 5 and 6 children took part in the MYG Table Tennis competition. They were placed 19th but although they were a little disappointed they were impeccably behaved and were a credit to the school.
The children showed excellent manners and sportsmanship throughout the day. Their behaviour was commented on by several of the adults organising the tournament; they stood out for their sportsmanship and politeness.
In the event we were unlucky with the draw we were given. We played opposition that were in the top 11 bar one team, we also played all of the top three placed teams. Both the first and second teams were undefeated in the competition. We had a very close game with Hempstead school who placed 2nd, each leg being decided by the odd point in games that could truly have gone either way.
All of the children,Mikel, Neriah, Amelia, Maya, Luca and Luke, represented the school phenomenally well showing the values of the school. Several adults commented on their politeness, sportsmanship and values. The children were all acredit the the school and a pleasure to work with them even when faced with the challenges presented by the competition.
A massive thanktyou and well done to you all
Mr Peters
Overall they finished in 19th
