Cross Country19 January 2024 (by admin) |
On Wednesday 10th January some of our year 4, 5 and 6 children took part in the first sporting event of the new term.
22 of our children took part in the inter schools cross country event during the afternoon. It was incredibly cold and the course was very muddy and slippery. The children ran very well despite the conditions. Jessica came in 6th position once again, showing her determined nature as she pushed herself to keep going. Elliott and Oscar battle it out for 3rd position with Oscar just holding on to gain the medal. Mikel had a tumble near the finish line as he was going head to head with a competitor from another school. The fall meant Mikel ended up in 2nd place, but once again a race to be proud of. Kairo was told by Mr Peters to pace himself, but clearly did not heed his advice as he sprinted the whole course, finishing for the 3rd time in 1st position gaining another gold medal.
We were all delighted with how all the children ran and are proud of every one of them. Well done children!
